When it comes to quality gas hot water systems, Bosch are hard to go past.
Why Bosch for Gas Hot Water?
Bosch offers the largest range of instantaneous gas hot water systems available for Australian homes and businesses. Bosch invented continuous flow gas hot water heaters, and their models offer high energy efficiency ratings, meaning that you will save money on your energy bills while also reducing your carbon footprint.
Bosch stand by their products and offer generous warranties on their continuous flow hot water heaters.
OptiFlow
Bosch were always known for their Highflow continuous flow range. This has since been replaced by the new improved OptiFlow range. The OptiFlow units are available in four sizes: 12, 16, 20 and 26 Litres. They are easy to install, tankless and compact.
All of the OptiFlow units are available with optional temperature controllers, allowing you to pre-set your desired temperatures. You can also stop the hot water flow once a defined volume has been reached.
This feature allows you to fill up a bathtub, and ensure that the water flow will stop according to your pre-set level, allowing you to concentrate on other things in the meantime. OptiFlow units are also available in both Bluetooth connective models and internal installation models.
Internal Compact
The Bosch Internal Compact hot water systems are available in 3 models; Ci10, Ci13 and Ci16. These units are compact and designed to be installed internally. They use natural gas or LPG.
All units are compact and suitable for smaller homes and come with automatic ignition, meaning no electricity is required. The differences in the models are as follows:
10L – Delivers 10 L/min at a 25°C rise and is best suited for a home with 1 bathroom.
13L – Delivers 13 L/min at a 25°C rise and is best suited for a home with 1 bathroom.
16L – Delivers 16 L/min at a 25°C rise and is best suited for a home with 1-2 bathrooms.

External HydroPower
The Bosch External HydroPower hot water systems run on natural gas or LPG and use the power generated by water flow to ignite the burner and begin the heating process.
This means the system only ignites when a hot water tap is turned on – once the hot water tap is turned off the system shuts itself off. This process eliminates the need for a standing pilot light or electricity, providing you with hot water “on-demand” and saving energy in the process.
The External HydroPower hot water systems come in three varieties, all with a 5 star energy efficiency rating. The 10H, 13H and 16H all are designed for external installation only, with the main differences being:
10L – Delivers 10 L/min at a 25°C rise and is best suited for a home with 1 bathroom.
13L – delivers 13 L/min at a 25°C rise and is best suited for a home with 1 bathroom.
16L – Delivers 16 L/min at a 25°C rise and is best suited for a home with 1-2 bathrooms.
Pilot Ignition
The Bosch pilot ignition hot water systems operate on natural gas or LPG, with two models available – the 10P and the 16P.
They operate via a standing pilot light which is maintained throughout the life of the appliance.
10L – Delivers 10 L/min at a 25°C rise and is best suited for a 1 bathroom household.
16L – Delivers 16 L/min at a 25°C rise and is best suited for a 1-2 bathroom household.
